Tea Biscuits

2 cups flour
1 tbsp sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup cold cubed butter
1 egg, topped up with milk to make 1 cup

Combine dry ingredients, cut in butter, add egg/milk mixture and mix to just combine. Knead about 10 times on floured board. Cut into biscuits. Bake at 425 for 12-14 minutes, depending on size. I usually get 8-10 biscuits.

Add shredded cheddar and onion powder for a nice variation.
